"In the Garden of Beasts:Love, Terror, And an American Family in Hitler's Berlin " By Erik Larsen

 I thought this was a fascinating book.It shows the rise of Hitler through the eyes of an American Diplomat, while he is in Berlin with his family.William Dodd and his daughter, Martha are the main characters of the book, but there are many more side stories that will keep you captivated.The Nazi's rise to power is an eye opener. The thing I found most interesting was how America was also turning its back on the Jews as Hitler was starting his, as he called it, extermination. If you are a History Buff, especially around this time period, you will very much enjoy this book.
